We are delighted to announce that Northern Ballet has today been confirmed as one of Arts Council England (ACE)'s National Portfolio Organisations for the period 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2026.
We are extremely grateful to ACE for their continued support of our work, and for their significant investment in our industry at this critical time.
Subject to a formal funding agreement, we will receive annual ACE funding of £3,289,261 during this period. This represents a small increase on our funding for the current period of around 3.8%.
We are nonetheless operating in a challenging economic climate. This increase follows a long period of standstill funding, and we are also facing a severe rise in costs due to energy prices, materials and fuel costs, and the high rate of inflation. This is coupled with supressed box office income as a result of both Covid and the cost of living crisis. We are acutely aware of the difficulties faced by our colleagues in the arts, and will continue to work collaboratively to support the sector.

Tobias Perkins, Interim Executive Director
