Helen is from Tallinn in Estonia. She trained at Tallinn Ballet School and then later danced with the Estonian National Ballet. She joined Northern Ballet in 2018.

I started dancing at 7 years old

Which Northern Ballet role would you most like to dance?
I’m really excited for The Three Musketeers, especially because Estonian National Ballet used to perform David Nixon OBE’s production and I remember admiring Constance’s character.
Career/training highlights
Performing Clara with the Company in Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker when I was in my graduation year in school... It was definitely a special moment!
What do you like most about being a dancer?
I like the rehearsal process the most. When you’re working with a team to create a masterpiece and you have the possibility to make it look perfect. Another amazing thing is that you get to travel the world and perform on different stages.
If you could adapt one work into a ballet what would it be?
A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket.
What is your favourite book?
There are too many to choose from, I’m sorry!
What is your favourite post-show meal?
Breakfast for dinner.
How do you like to relax?
I like taking long walks, exploring new places, baking and going to the movies.
If you weren’t a dancer what would you be?
Probably a chef.
