Executive Director
David Collins joined Northern Ballet from Opera North where he was Executive Director and Deputy CEO. In that role he led the fundraising campaign for the company’s major capital project to create the Howard Opera Centre and transform the Howard Assembly Room as a performance venue with new public spaces in the heart of Leeds.
Previously he held the position of Director of External Affairs at Opera North leading the marketing, box office, communications, digital and development teams.
Before moving to Yorkshire to join Opera North, David was Head of Marketing at the Royal Shakespeare Company working on productions in Stratford-upon-Avon, London and on tour nationally and internationally. He also worked on the launch of Live from the RSC cinema broadcasts and the capital transformation of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
David served as a Board member for Opera Europa, the association of European opera companies, is a Trustee of Pilot Theatre in York and a parent governor at his local primary school.
